Overheard In My Life

Seen on a new Burmese client's shirt:

Back of shirt:
Arianism
I chose this shirt

Front of shirt:
Calvinism
This shirt chose me

I'm thinking of trying to get him a job in the theology department of some local university. I think he'd be a real hit!

Scene: Mark and I are at our church's international ministry potluck. We're sitting with a Korean mother and her two boys, discussing the recent burning (due to arson) of Nam-Dae-Mun, a famous landmark in Seoul. One of the boys, a third-grader who is rarely interested in talking to anyone besides his brother, looks up and declares to everyone:

"Only a coward would sneak in at night to destroy a nation's first treasure!"
