We're off to China for our winter vacation! It sounds like we'll be able to experience winter at its most intense (according to everyone we talk to in Japan--and in America-- Beijing is frigid in December). We're taking the same backpacks and money belts that we used in Europe, so we're getting nostalgic and really excited to hit the road and do some more traveling. We bought a Dr. Pimsleur "Learn Mandarin in 5 hours"-type thing on iTunes, but Mandarin is proving to be way more difficult to remember than even Japanese! We should have started studying before this week...:)
